Corporate Social Responsibility

Since 2014, Comansa has been progressively introducing social responsibility criteria in its strategy, planning and management. The company views social responsibility from an economic, environmental and social standpoint and supports a long-term process with specific objectives. Additionally, since 2021 it's been in possession of the Bureau Veritas certification, which certifies Comansa has a Management System for Criminal Compliance in place, in accordance with the requirements of standard UNE 19601:2017. Responsabilidad Social Corporativa

Comansa wishes to continue making great strides in terms of sustainability - with ethical principles and responsible behaviour guiding its actions - while also improving the link between the company and the community where it develops the majority of its activities.

Transparency is a key component in this vision, which is why Comansa provides its employees, customers, suppliers and society as a whole with information related to its activity and future plans.

Comansa has opted to incorporate social and environmental initiatives in its business activity due to its firm belief that this vision will drive company growth and customer loyalty.

In this context, the company's existing good practices - particularly implementation of environmental and occupational safety management tools pursuant to the standards ISO 14001 and 45001 - have allowed it to ensure legal compliance in addition to considerably reducing (by a notable percentage) its consumption of natural resources and accidents at work.

Regarding product design, environmental aspects are considered throughout the life cycle. To this end, Comansa guarantees that its designs are sustainable by including environmental criteria in the design and development phases for the end product, with the aim of implementing measures that reduce its environmental impact without compromising the product's price or quality.

Furthermore, Comansa has ensured that its employees undergo the correct training to guarantee legal compliance by observing the Code of Ethics set by the company, along with its Compliance Policy.

Bureau Veritas certification for a Management System for Criminal Compliance

As proof of this commitment, in April 2021 Comansa obtained the Bureau Veritas certification, which certifies that the company has a Management System for Criminal Compliance in place, in line with the requirements set out in standard UNE 19601:2017 on best practices in management systems.

The awarding of this certification involved completion of a verification process through an audit carried out in two phases involving all subsidiaries and areas in the diverse companies that Comansa comprises.

This certificate is recognition of the effort made to strengthen the culture of regulatory compliance at the group while implementing an efficient organisation and management model that encourages a culture that is aware of criminal prevention and detection, opposed to malpractices that tolerate or protect illegal conduct, and reduces the risk of crimes being committed.

The Bureau Veritas certification guarantees correct implementation of crime prevention and detection measures, reducing their risks and promoting an ethical business culture where legal compliance is central. It also assures the use of monitoring and control tools to prevent criminal acts and reduce the possibility of these being committed.

Standard UNE 19601:2017 facilitates implementation of the Management System for Criminal Compliance, which not only respects Spanish legal requirements, but is also aimed at complying with Comansa's expectations in terms of its operations in international markets, consistent with the standards and best practices set out in the scope of social responsibility and compliance in said markets.
